Long Description
Hot rolled carbon steel coil is produced by reheating continuously cast slabs above 1100°C and rolling them to the desired thickness in a hot strip mill. This thermomechanical process imparts a characteristic mill scale and yields a product with excellent weldability, formability, and consistent mechanical properties. As the foundational product form from integrated steel mills, it serves as the essential raw material for a vast downstream industry, including pipe and tube manufacturing, cold rolling, and the production of structural sections. It is supplied to a comprehensive range of international standards, covering general construction, high-strength low-alloy, and forming grades, providing a cost-effective solution for heavy fabrication.
Key Product Highlights
Hot rolled coil is supplied in large, heavy coils optimized for continuous processing lines and efficient logistics.
The product form is available in a wide spectrum of international steel grades and dimensional specifications.
The inherent mill scale surface is suitable for applications where subsequent descaling, painting, or galvanizing will occur.
It offers an optimal balance of strength, ductility, and cost for structural and industrial component manufacturing.
Standardized production ensures consistent metallurgical properties and dimensional tolerances across global supply chains.
Product Advantages
Integrated mill production provides stable, large-volume supply capabilities for major projects and distributors.
Rigorous process control guarantees consistent chemical composition, mechanical properties, and internal soundness.
Coil dimensions, weight, and grade can be customized within standard mill rolling schedules to match specific downstream needs.
The product’s formability and weldability make it the preferred starting material for a wide array of fabrication processes.
Full material traceability is provided with mill test certificates compliant with international standards.
Industry Application
This coil is used as feedstock for manufacturing welded pipe and tube, structural beams and channels, automotive frames, industrial equipment, storage tanks, and as the starting material for cold rolling.

Packaging & Surface Treatment
Coils are prepared for export on sturdy steel skids with wooden or composite core protectors, wrapped in multiple layers of waterproof paper and/or plastic, and secured with steel strapping. The standard surface condition is hot rolled mill scale. Optional surface treatments include Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) for a clean, scale-free surface, or shot blasting as a substrate for heavy industrial coatings.
